Citation of Javelin Research
All Syndicated Research is proprietary to Javelin and is subject to copyright and other intellectual property laws and protections. All commercial citation and use of our data and research without our written permission is prohibited. All Javelin intellectual property is subject to this Citation Policy. Any reuse or distribution of Javelin’s research must be presented in accordance with all of Javelin’s policies. Full reproduction of Javelin Strategy & Research is prohibited. All citations must be correctly cited and limited in scope, and are subject to Javelin Strategy & Research’s citation policy, set forth according to the guidelines specified below:
- All citations must come directly from Javelin research or data cross-tabulation.
- All citations must be expressed within the context of Javelin research and accurately cited.
- Citations that negatively portray or negatively bias a companies or products image are forbidden to be used.
- Javelin research may not be used to endorse (explicit or implicit) any company, service, or third party.
- Javelin data or citations may not be merged or combined with data from any other firm or analyst.

Submitting a quote/Receiving Javelin’s approval for Citations
All Javelin quote and citation requests must approve any external use in writing. Requests to use, quote, mention, excerpt or reference any research conducted or referenced by Javelin Strategy & Research must be submitted to email@example.com. You must obtain approval from Javelin before quoting or referencing any data or research. Please submit the quotes, along with the full citation and context of that you wish to use. Also, indicate where in the materials the quote will be its original research source. We will respond to your requests as soon as possible.
When to Seek Javelin’s Approval
- Approval must be received for all external or commercial citations of Javelin research and data, including, but not limited to advertisements, press releases, sales material, SEC filings, legal documents, and links to any websites maintained by Javelin Strategy & Research.
- All full reproductions and/or distributions of Javelin research is prohibited without the expressed, written consent of Javelin Strategy & Research.
- All non-clients are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and a response or authorization is not guaranteed.
- The Javelin logo, all marketing materials, ‘marks,’ trademarked information, and all research data and content require Javelin approval for media purposes, speaking engagements, conferences, or any related uses.
- If you are unclear on a particular use, if approval is needed, or what the citation guidelines are, please contact to for further clarification and to seek approval.
Clients may display Javelin graphics on their Web sites, but they must do so in a way that displays the full authorized reprint of the research, report, scorecard, crosstab, or analyst briefing. They may use Javelin graphs in slide presentations, so long as the Javelin graphic is displayed in its entirety, with the original title and date of publication and Javelin-approved disclaimers on each slide. The Javelin logo may also be used for webinar purposes, as long as the logo is secondary in size and placement to the logo from the hosting/presenting company.
Clients may use some Javelin research for internal purposes only, including part of a scorecard, data tabulation, or text from reports, so long as they adhere to Javelin’s Citation Policies.
Companies may only claim they are “Best in Class” or have received “One Star,” “Two Star,” “Three Star,” or “Four Stars” when referring to the category in which they received the honorable mention. They must also use Javelin’s weighting system and methodology in referencing honors received. These honorable mentions can only be used from Javelin syndicated research reports, and the wording for what mention they received must be the same as stated in the report, and be specific to what area they received mention in.
Press Release Guidelines
Using “Javelin,” “Javelin Research” or “Javelin Strategy & Research” in press release titles and subheads is prohibited. “Independent Research Firm” is the only substitution that may be used in these instances.
Clients may use the following formats for press releases and other marketing materials:

When Approval is Not Necessary
In some instances, press and media members may use portions of our research without our approval, but should contact us to ensure that the data is correct and is being portrayed correctly. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
